It is an inorganic compound having the formula (NH 4 ) 2 Fe(SO 4 ) 2 (H 2 O) 6 and also known as Mohr's salt. Ammonium, Iron, and Sulfate ions are mixed in a 2:1:2 ratio in Ferrous Ammonium Sulfate. Because it crystallizes easily and does not oxidize when exposed to air, it is a frequently used as a laboratory reagent. This salt is the preferred source of Ferrous ions in analytical chemistry becauseof its extended shelf life and resistance to oxidation. Ferrous Ammonium Sulfate, 0.00282M Solution contains 0.11% of Mohr’s salt, 0.03% Sulfuric Acid, and 99.86% purified water. Ferrous Ammonium Sulfate, 0.00282M solution is highly recommended for commercial and lab applications.
