Details
Ferrous Ammonium Sulfate 0.20N
Ferrous Ammonium Sulfate is a combination of Ammonium, Iron, and Sulfate with a 2:1:2 ratios. It is also referred to as Mohr's salt or ammonium Iron (II) Sulfate, and is an inorganic chemical having the formula (NH 4 ) 2 Fe(SO 4 ) 2 (H 2 O) 6 . It is categorized as a double salt of Ferrous Sulfate and Ammonium Sulfate because it contains two distinct cations, Fe 2+ and NH 4+ ions. It's a popular laboratory reagent since it crystallizes easily and resists air oxidation. Ferrous Ammonium Sulfate, 0.050N solution is produced by combining 78.4 grams of (NH 4 ) 2 Fe(SO 4 ) 2 (H 2 O) 6 with 20 mL Sulfuric Acid and diluting it with filtered water to make a 1L solution. Ferrous Ammonium Sulfate, 0.20N solution is highly recommended for commercial and lab applications.
