Ammonium Bifluoride, also known as Ammonium Hydrogen Fluoride, is an inorganic compound with the formula NH 4 HF 2 or NH 4 F·HF. It is made by the reaction of Ammonia and Hydrogen Fluoride. It appears as a colorless solid at room temperature. It is utilized as an acidifier for oil wells, as well as, for etching glass and cleaning bricks/ceramics.
