Potassium Ferricyanide, ACS Grade
Potassium Ferricyanide, also known as Potassium Prussiate, Everitt's Salt, and Prussiate of Potash, has the chemical formula C 6 FeK 3 N 6 or K 3 [Fe(CN) 6 ]]. It appears as odorless orange-red light- sensitive crystals or powder and is sparingly soluble in Water at ambient conditions. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of Carbon Monoxide (CO), Carbon Dioxide (CO 2 ), and heavy metal oxides. In the lab, it can be prepared by passing Chlorine through a solution of Potassium Ferrocyanide. Chemicals in the Reagent Grade category have high purity and are best suited for analytical purposes.
