Potassium Ferricyanide Lab Grade
Potassium Ferricyanide, also known as Potassium Prussiate, Everitt's Salt, and Prussiate of Potash, has the chemical formula C 6 FeK 3 N 6 or K 3 [Fe(CN) 6 ]. It appears as odorless orange-red light- sensitive crystals or powder and is sparingly soluble in Water at ambient conditions. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of Carbon Monoxide (CO), Carbon Dioxide (CO 2 ), and heavy metal oxides. In the lab, it can be prepared by passing Chlorine through a solution of Potassium Ferrocyanide. Lab grade chemicals possess reasonable purity but do not comply with any official standard for quality or purity like the ACS Grade, the USP Grade, or the FCC Grade. The Lab Grade is also known as Laboratory Reagent (LR) and Chemically Pure (CP). Potassium Ferricyanide, Lab Grade, is recommended for educational institutes and research labs.
