Potassium Chromate ACS Grade
Potassium Chromate, also known as Bipotassium Chromate, Potassium Chromate(VI), Dipotassium Monochromate, and Chromate of Potash, appears as a yellow crystalline powder having a disagreeable bitter taste. It is soluble in Water but insoluble in Alcohol and Acetone at ambient conditions. Primarily, it is a Potassium salt having Potassium and Chromate ions in a 2:1 ratio. When heated to decomposition, it emits toxic fumes of Chromium. On a lab scale, Potassium Chromate can be synthesized by reacting Potassium Dichromate with Potassium Hydroxide or Potassium Carbonate. Potassium Chromate, ACS Grade fully complies with the American Chemical Society's (ACS) requirements due to its high purity. The ACS grade is usually the same as the reagent grade, and it is ideal for analytical and research applications that require repeatable, consistent findings.
