8- Quinolinol, also known as 8-Hydroxyquinolinol, Quinophenol, and Oxine has the chemical formula C 9 H 7 NO. It appears as a white to light yellow powder to crystal with a phenolic odor. It is insoluble in Water and soluble in Alcohol at ambient conditions. It is a Monohydroxyquinolinol that is Quinoline substituted by a hydroxy group at position 8 and is prepared by the hydrolysis of Quinoline-8-Sulfonic Acid. The ACS Grade is generally equivalent to the reagent grade and is acceptable for use in analytical applications and research laboratories. Due to its high purity 8-Quinolinol, ACS Reagent Grade is highly recommended for labs and commercial applications.
