Potassium Metabisulfite FCC Grade

Potassium Metabisulfite, also known as Pyrosulfurous Acid, Dipotassium Salt, Dipotassium Disulfate, and Potassium Pyrosulfate, has the chemical formula K 2 S 2 O 5 or K 2 O 5 S 2 . It appears as a white granular or powdery solid with a sharp rotten-egg-like (Sulfur Dioxide) odor. It is soluble in Water and insoluble in Ethanol at ambient conditions. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of sulfur oxides and potassium sulfate. The Food Chemicals Codex (FCC) has verified high-quality Potassium Metabisulfite, FCC Grade for purity.
