Carbol-Fuchsin Kinyoun Solution, also known as Carbol-Fuchsin and Dimethyl Fuchsin has the chemical formula C 21 H 22 ClN 3 . It appears as a dark red to red-violet liquid with a phenolic odor. It is soluble in Water at ambient conditions. Carbol-Fuchsin Kinyoun is prepared by mixing 4% basic Fuchsin, 19% Ethanol, 12.2% Phenol, 1% Methanol, 1% Isopropyl Alcohol, and a balanced quantity of Water. Chemically pure or Laboratory reagents are two terms often used to describe Lab Grade chemicals. Lab Grade chemicals do not meet any accepted quality or purity requirements such as the ACS Grade, the USP Grade, and the FCC Grade, despite their acceptable purity.
