Periodic Acid, also known as Orthoperiodic Acid and Periodic (VII) Acid, has the chemical formula H 5 IO 6 . It appears as a colorless crystal that is soluble in Water and Alcohol at ambient conditions. It is commonly used as an oxidizing agent and is a conjugate base of Periodate. Periodic Acid is highly pure and contains 100% Periodic acid. The ACS Grade is generally equivalent to the reagent grade and is acceptable for use in analytical applications and research laboratories.
