Boric Acid Saturated Solution
Boric Acid, also known as Orthoboric Acid, Boracic Acid, Boron Hydroxide, and Borofax has the chemical formula BH 3 O 3 . It appears as a red-colored odorless liquid. Boric Acid is a weakly acidic hydrate of Boric Oxide with mild antifungal, antiseptic and antiviral properties. Boric Acid, Saturated Solution contains 3.8-4.2% Boric Acid mixed with ~96% of purified water, 0.001% of Bromocresol Green (Sodium Salt), and 0.0007% Methyl Red (Sodium Salt). Chemically pure or Laboratory reagents are two terms often used to describe Lab Grade chemicals. Lab Grade chemicals do not meet any accepted quality or purity requirements such as the ACS Grade, the USP Grade, and the FCC Grade, despite their acceptable purity. Due to its high purity Boric Acid, Saturated Solution, Lab Grade is highly recommended for research and specifically for Kjeldahl determinations.
