In the lab, it can be produced by passing bromine into a solution of potassium hydroxide. Commercially, it is produced by using an electrolytic process. Potassium Bromate, 0.10N Solution, Lab Grade is composed of ~7 wt.% of pure Potassium Bromate in its aqueous solution. Lab grade chemicals possess reasonable purity but do not comply with any official standard for quality or purity like the ACS Grade, the USP Grade, or the FCC Grade. The Lab Grade is also known as Laboratory Reagent (LR) and Chemically Pure (CP). Potassium Bromate, 0.10N Solution, Lab Grade is recommended for educational institutes, research labs, and commercial applications.
