Details
Buffer Solution, pH 10.0, Coded Blue
A buffer solution has the capability to resist change in its pH upon the addition of acid or base in a small quantity. It possesses a working range of pH values and capacity that dictates itsstability before any change and the amount by which it will change. It usually consists of a weak conjugate acid-base pair. This pair might contain a weak acid and its conjugate base, or a weak base and its conjugate acid. The choice of the pair is simply dependent upon the desired pH when preparing the buffer solution. Buffer Solution, pH 10.0, Coded Blue is a combination of Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, disodium salt dihydrate (0.7 wt.%), Potassium carbonate (0.1 wt.%), Boron potassium oxide (0.0-0.02 wt.%), Potassium hydroxide, and purified Water (balanced). It is color-coded blue for easy identification and appears as an opaque liquid at ambient conditions.
