Zinc Nitrate Hexahydrate, also known as Celloxan, Zinc(II) Nitrate Hexahydrate, and Zinc Dinitrate Hexahydrate, is the hexahydrate of Zinc Nitrate having the chemical formula H 12 N 2 O 12 Zn or Zn(NO 3 ) 2 -6H 2 O. It appears as off-white hygroscopic crystalline powder or flakes with no odor. It is freely soluble in Water at ambient conditions. Upon thermal decomposition, it produces toxic fumes of Nitrogen and Zinc Oxides. An ACS Grade reagent is a chemical that meets the purity requirements of the American Chemical Society.
