At room temperature, it appears as a white crystalline solid. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has allowed use of Aluminum Chloride as an active ingredient in different products. For example, Aluminum Chloride Tincture is a kind of medicine, which is prepared by dissolving AlCl 3 in the USP grade alcohol (mainly Ethanol).
