About Tricalcium Phosphate, FCC/USP Grade, Halal

Tricalcium Phosphate, having the chemical formula Ca₃(PO₄)₂, is a calcium salt of Phosphoric acid. It is also known as Bone Phosphate of Lime, Calcium Phosphate Tribasic, Calcium Hydroxyapatite, and Calcium Orthophosphate. It is reactive with oxidizing agents and can undergo thermal decomposition into irritating gases/ vapors having oxides of calcium and phosphorous. It appears as a white odorless, tasteless solid at ambient conditions and is insoluble in water. A USP Grade chemical is the one that conforms to the criteria of the United States Pharmacopeia (USP). A substance that meets the USP/FCC Grade specification can be used in food applications. Due to its high purity, Tricalcium Phosphate, FCC/USP Grade also fully conforms to the FCC (Food Chemicals Codex) Grade. The FCC approval makes it suitable for foods.
