Details

Lead Sulfide, also known as Lead (II) Sulfide, Galena, and Lead Monosulfide has the chemical formula PbS. It appears as a black to silvery powder or crystalline solid. It is insoluble in Water and sinks in it at ambient conditions. Lead Sulfide is highly pure and is prepared by passing Hydrogen Sulfide gas into an acid solution of Lead Nitrate. Unless a high purity grade (>90%) is needed, Technical Grade chemicals are of sufficient quality for industrial applications. Technical Grade chemicals are mainly utilized in large-scale commercial manufacturing where impurity levels do not need to be tracked or managed. Due to its high purity Lead Sulfide, Technical Grade is highly recommended for labs and commercial applications.
