Oil, Countertop is also known as Mineral Oil, Nujol, and Paraffin Oil. It has the general chemical formula C 15 H 11 ClO 7 . It appears as a tasteless, clear, colorless to white viscous oil without fluorescence in daylight. It is odorless at lower temperatures and gives a faint odor of petroleum when heated to high temperatures.It is insoluble in Water and soluble in Ether at ambient conditions. The ACS/USP Grade is generally equivalent to the reagent grade, conforms to the criteria of United States Pharmacopeia (USP), and is acceptable for use in analytical applications and research laboratories. Due to its high purity Oil, Countertop, ACS/USP Grade is highly recommended for labs and commercial applications.
