Murexide, also known as Ammonium Purpurate, is the Ammonium salt of Purpuric Acid having the chemical formula C 8 H 8 N 6 O 6 . Murexide on Sodium Chloride Carrier appears as golden to a rose-pink crystalline powder having free solubility in Water at ambient conditions. It is used as a colorimetric reagent for measuring the concentration of rare earth metals and Calcium. It can be used in water and wastewater treatment facilities to determine the concentration of dissolved and particulate materials.
